Match v Woodcote Park GC

Wednesday 20th September 2017

The RJGC Wednesday League home match this year against Woodcote Park GC was yet again played in lovely sun shine with the course in great condition, many thanks to Ben and all his staff.

 

The result was a 7 matches to 3 win in favour of the WL, however we did come up 4 matches short over the two legs, so sadly the trophy stays with our friends at Woodcote Park GC.

In our win some good results were seen on the day, no better than that from the pairing of Gallichan & Christensen who handed out a 7&6 dogs license in beating their opponents .

 

Following the match the two Teams enjoyed dinner in the Club House, as always thanks to Bart and all his staff for a great night. Bob Bowden for the WL, thanked Woodcote Park for being part of what is now a regular fixture in the Clubs diary for September.

Chris Jordan, Tour Captain for Woodcote Park GC thanked the members of the RJGC WL for their hospitality, and made reference that they had yet again enjoyed their three days in Jersey, not only playing at La Moye and The Royal but the welcome evening at Sumas and their stay at The Moorings Hotel, and looked forward to welcoming the WL to Woodcote Park GC again next April.

 

Bob also made mention that this may in fact be the last Match involvement for Chris Cole, as he was moving to the 'dark side', and membership of La Moye GC.  Bob thanked Chris for all the help that he had given him in setting up the WL Tour, and how much he had enjoyed working with him, and of course the late Bob Gallichan, in running the WL in previous years.

 

Dr David Frank rounded off the evening, as is tradition, with a 'ditty' song or two 

 

On behalf of the Wednesday League, one last thank you to Tony and all the Rangers who were not only involved with the visit of Woodcote Park GC, but in their help through the WL season.
